INSIDE THE CAN: A CONVERSATION WITH LOWLOW'S BREWMASTER!

At LowLow, every can of hard seltzer tells a story—and that story begins in the small brewery in Landskrona, Sweden. It’s here, amidst the rolling Scandinavian fields just next to the ocean, that our brewmaster, Joacim, works his magic. We sat down with Joacim to learn more about the art and science behind LowLow’s signature sparkle. Question: Joacim, can you tell us about the production process of LowLow’s Hard Seltzer?

"Of course! Everything starts with our commitment to quality. We’re proud to brew everything right here in Landskrona, in our small but mighty brewery. The first step is using pristine Swedish water—it’s naturally clean and perfect for carbonation. From there, we're mixing the champagne yeast with refined sugar to start the fermentation.

Question: Champagne yeast plays a big role in LowLow. Why is it so special?

"Champagne yeast is the soul of our hard seltzers. It’s what gives LowLow that elegant, bubbly finish. But it's also something else. Brewing the drink creates a full body experience rather than mixing a spiked seltzer. The fermentation process is something we hold dear. We let the yeast work slowly and naturally, ensuring each batch develops its unique character. It’s a labor of care and patience, but it’s worth every moment."

Question: How does the small brewery setting impact your approach?

"Being a small brewery allows us to focus on craftsmanship. We’re hands-on with every batch, and that level of care is what sets us apart. It’s not about mass production; it’s about creating something special that people will truly enjoy." Question: What’s the best part of being a brewmaster?

"The artistry of brewing is what I love most. I'm quite the nerd so I believe the science bit but also that it's a mix of that and creativity—you’re constantly experimenting, tweaking, and perfecting. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of seeing raw ingredients transform into something really tasteful! It's a huge plus when we get great feedback on the products that we make. Seeing people's reaction to our creations when they realized we're up to something great is just priceless - that's what it's all about really."

From the clean Swedish water to the delicate fermentation process, every step of LowLow’s journey is a testament to our dedication to quality and flavor. So the next time you crack open a can of LowLow, you’ll know it’s not just a drink—it’s a piece of Sweden in every sip.
